BABE’N BRIDES – Real Weddings – Nicole

It was soooo lovely to be a part of Nicole’s big day.  When I met Nicole and Kathy her Mum at the trial they were such a pleasure : )

Nicole had an absolutely AMAZING lace gown so we wanted something quite modern yet sexy for her hair and makeup.

We went for a strong emphasis on the eyes in gorgeous purple and charcoal shades to really help make her blue eyes pop and a gorgeous shade of natural pink on the lips and cheeks to keep the interest in the eyes, but still give a naturally flushed and stung look.

Here are some of her shots, STUNNING!!!

WHAT’S TRENDING – Winter Makeup

Heat things up this winter when it comes to your look with the latest winter trends for this season!

Metallic based shadow

Integrate a metallic finish to your eyeshadow, in terms of colour anything goes – experiment!  I always love to use colour theory as my basis for choosing shadows so as a general rule:

Blue eyes – Opt for neutral shades such as bonze, copper and other warm brown hues to really make the eye pop.  I always love experimenting with red and orange eyeshadows when I have a night out, especially if you blend these colours into say a dark brown, grey or black smoky eye.

Green eyes – Gorgeous tones of purple and violet will really set off your green eyes, shades of bronze and brown will also work really well as will deep and light shades of charcoal and grey.

Brown eyes – Lucky little devils can get away with all colours.  I really love blue, pink or green tones to an eyeshadow to assist in popping brown eyes.

We saw a few examples of adding a little manic metallic to the eyes in the Donna Karan and Rodarte Fall/Winter 2014 shows.

My fave products for creating metallic shadows – MAC Pressed Pigments, Rimmel London Scandaleyes Shadow Sticks

Colour me BAAAAAD

Eye colour popping is massive!  Whether it be with just a liner or splashing over the whole eyelid.  Blue’s and pinks were really popular in the Kenzo, Diane Von Furstenberg and BCBG Fall/Winter 2014 Shows.

As you can see the use of colour doesn’t have to be so dramatic, you can use lighter shades and blending to create a really soft look, on the flip slide it is easy to create drama with colour using a heavy pigmented pencil, pen or shadow.  You can try the Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Eyeliner – Light Amethyst or the Maybelline Colour Show Crayon Kohl Eyeliner in Magenta.

Lashings of Lashes

All types of emphasis on the lashes are still on trend – thick, baby doll 60’s inspired and even more of a clumped feel all work!

Fake lashes are the easiest way to achieve a full on lash my favourites are Model Rock, Ardell and Lash Me.  But there are also some pretty crazy Mascara’s out there that work just as well such as the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam, Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara and Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara.

BABE’N BRIDES – Real Weddings – Teneil

Ahhh sometimes I wonder when my job will ever actually feel like work!!

Teneil’s big day felt like being on an amazing luxurious getaway, getting the girls ready at Jonah’s Whale Beach with its spectacular views and luxury finishings!

But more importantly spending the day with absolutely lovely girls, not to mention all STUNNING : )

With an outdoor garden and beach/luxury style wedding we wanted a look that was striking but not too overdone.  Emphasis on eyes and lashes were a must.

CONGRATULATIONS Teneil, wishing you a beautiful life with your soul mate.

That’s a WRAP – Latte Magazine Shoot – FASHION

Work’n 9 – 5 and the daily grind doesn’t have to be dull, especially when it comes to how you look and what you wear!

The gorgeous Sarah Jane Young Fashion and Beauty Editor of the AMAZING publication Latte Magazine, shows us how to work it this season as we head into the colder months while keeping it classy and on trend.

We had such a great day down at the Rocks shooting this for Latte Magazine, we kept the makeup quite corporate and added pops of colour to the lips to work in with each outfit.  Hair was relaxed yet polished, with easy styles that all of us can manage to pull off before a crazy day at work.

Thanks to the gorgeous Rebecca Bodman (Associate Publisher Latte Magazine), Sarah Jane Young (Style and Fashion Blogger) @sheis_sarahjane) and Jessica Abraham (Photographer) @jessicaabrahamphotography for a FABULOUS day!

BABE’N BRIDES – Real Weddings – Julia

The  Southern Highlands sure is the place to be WED at the mo, super on trend.  Julia’s big day was no exception!

A gorgeous afternoon in the rustic gardens of the Southern Highlands – so elegant with a country-esque vibe : )

With a gorgeous bride and three stunning bridesmaids my job was far too easy!

For Julia’s look we wanted to amp things up a little, she is not afraid of wearing makeup and a strong brow – all very much on trend at that time.  So we went for gorgeous warm bronze, gold and brown tones on the eyes to compliment her gorgeous skin tone and blue eyes, along with a soft pink cheek and lip to keep the eyes the emphasis.

Congratulations lovely, all the best for a wonderful life with you and your beau!
